Section cutter
Laser processing of structural members, with model-linked identification and locating features for downstream assembly.
STRUCTURAL STEEL FABRICATION · WORLDWIDE
From structural model data to cut parts, organised assembly kits and faster fit-up.
Rapid Fabrication brings equipment and production software together to reduce the workshop work between cutting and assembly.

THE WORK AFTER THE CUT
Cut plates still need to be identified, found, grouped and delivered to the right assembly. Piles of parts turn that into repeated searching and handling.
RF is designed to carry each part’s identity through production, so plates can be sorted into kits for the structural member they belong to.
The aim: the right parts, together, ready for fit-up.
THE COMPLETE RF PACKAGE
Section cutting, plate cutting and automated kit sorting, coordinated through RF software.
Laser processing of structural members, with model-linked identification and locating features for downstream assembly.
Laser cutting and part identification, preserving the link from each cut plate back to its structural member.
Cut plates grouped into member kits as part of the production workflow, reducing manual sorting and repeated handling.
The link between model data, machines, parts, kit boxes and workshop progress.
Equipment configuration, installation, commissioning and training scope are agreed for each project.
REAL ASSEMBLY DEMONSTRATION
Locating features guide the position of parts, reducing manual measuring and marking during fit-up.
20 minutes 28 seconds less assembly time in the demonstrated comparison.
Reported completed times for this demonstration; the excerpt does not show both completions. This is one assembly comparison, not a whole-factory productivity guarantee.
WHERE CUSTOMER VALUE COMES FROM
Identified parts and member kits help the workshop find what it needs.
Sorting is built into the process rather than left as a separate manual task.
Locating features reduce measuring and marking at assembly.
Connected records link parts, kits and jobs so progress can be tracked.
Project savings depend on the job mix, workshop practices and system configuration. We assess the opportunity against the customer’s actual process.
ONGOING SOFTWARE & SUPPORT
RF software connects production information with continuing updates, diagnostics and support.
Link jobs, members, plates and kit boxes through the workshop.
Keep the connected workflow improving as RF develops.
Machine status, alarms and logs support remote fault investigation and guidance for the local team.
Software is offered through an ongoing subscription, with the support scope agreed for each deployment. Software and remote support are in development; included features, connectivity and service terms are confirmed for each deployment.

Connected information makes organised production possible.
BUILT FROM FABRICATION EXPERIENCE
Rapid Fabrication was founded by Kevin Fitzpatrick, a qualified Structural Steel Fabricator who has owned structural steel fabrication businesses.
RF grew from the practical work that consumes time on the workshop floor: finding parts, handling them repeatedly, measuring, marking and positioning assemblies.
The focus is an integrated manufacturing system for structural steel fabricators worldwide, with value measured in the customer’s production process.
